Holy Spirit baptism
We believe in baptism of the Holy Spirit, and speaking in tongues ( Acts 1:8; 2:4; 2:38; 10:46; 19:6 ); the Spirit is upon you as riding a horse; You are upon the horse, and you have control; Salvation, you have Holy Ghost, baptism of Holy Ghost, Spirit has you; WHY Holy Ghost baptism? For power ( abilities ), and be witnesses ( see, hear, know by PERSONAL perception, presence ) ( Acts 1:8 );
Holy Spirit is God- Acts 2:2, 5:4; 1 Pet 1:12;
Holy Spirit baptism is cooperating with the Spirit, and the Spirit becomes UPON you, it’s already IN you at salvation, but baptism in Holy Spirit, you have the power to subdue your soul, so that you are MORE than a match, and prepared for the wiles of the devil! It’s COOPERATING, flowing out of a relationship, and MORE, and UPON you, mainly for your soul;
Areas it will effect: 1-power to operate in spiritual gifts, and powerful fruitful living ( 1- Cor 12; Lk 4:18-19; Eph 5:18-19 ); 2- prayer life ( Jude 20; 1 Cor 14:14 ); 3- build yourself up ( 1 Cor 14:4 ); 4- boldness with all truth ( Acts 4: 29 ); 5- filled with joy ( Acts 13:52 ); 6-Bible extra alive, sensitive to Spirit, with your spirit, MUST take spirit to Spirit to receive from God ( 1 Cor 14:2; 2:10-14; John 16:13; Jer 20:9; Lk 24:32,45 );
You are cooperating with the Holy Spirit, to have the power to get certain task done here on earth; The Spirit is manifested, seen by human eye ( 1Cor 12:7 ), as HE WILLS, ( 1 Cor 12:11 ) not as YOU want, which is why some don’t summit, control!
Purpose of Holy Spirit baptism; to be empowered with power ( ability to act to do something ) from on high; controlled; upon, like riding a horse, you are upon him, and the first thing you control on a horse is his mouth, that’s why speaking in tongues, is a good first, but not always sign; Filled- is attention, energy, mind, to a full capacity; ( Matt 3:16; Eph 5:18, Acts 4:8, Acts 4:31, Acts 13:9, Acts 13:52 )
( Eph 3:20 ) ………….ACCORDING to the POWER, ability to act, that is AT WORK in us
People not baptized in Holy Ghost, but miracles happen; John Alexander Dowie, John Wesley, both not baptized in Holy Ghost, but miracles happen; Point- authority, and faith in God, will get miracles done, but baptism in Holy Ghost, you will always have MORE; If Dowie would have cooperated with spirit , and lived out of his spirit, a relationship flow would of rested his body more; My testimony, I got baptized in Holy Ghost , shortly after conversion, so I don’t recall ever being without baptism of Holy Ghost, but a good example is John G Lake, who healed sick, BEFORE baptism of Holy Ghost, so sick being healed doesn’t verify baptism in Holy Ghost, but you can do more, like Lake said after baptism in Holy Ghost, he would KNOW, and tell people what the disease was; Just operating in more ability; I have never meant a person, including myself, that the word didn’t EXPLODE with revelation, after baptized in Holy Ghost; It flows better, fun, ex- its like driving a car for 50 miles, when not baptized in Holy Ghost, you stop every mile, when baptized, you have a smooth drive the whole way; your not limited;
Opposition verses about baptized in Holy Ghost – All believers have ( indwelling ) of Holy Spirit, to baptize into the body of Christ ( 1 Cor 12:13 ) ( Rom 8:9 ) to wash sins away ( Titus 3:5 ); ( 1 Cor 12:28-30 ) – This is for special gifts in a church settings, which all don’t have, but ALL can speak in tongues for use of edification, comfort, give thanks, singing, speaking mysteries onto God ( 1 Cor 14:2,3,15,16 ); ( 1 Cor 13:8-10 ) means- we will not need tongues when that which is perfect, Jesus, comes again ( Matt 24:30-31 ) but does HOLY SPIRIT HAVE YOU; Spirit possessed, Spirit- empowered, Spirit- led, Spirit controlled
Opposition verses- Did gifts, and tongues end with Apostles? NO, ( 1Cor 13:8 )- perfect is when Jesus returns ( 1 Cor 1:7 ); ( Acts 2:39 )- this, gift, promise is for AS MANY AS THE LORD SHALL CALL, AND ARE FAR OFF; Did miracles end with Apostles? NO, Its faith in the NAME, not the person that does miracles ( Acts 3:16 ); Is tongues of the devil? NO; Faith come by word of God ( Rom 10:17 ), and has to be mixed with faith to profit ( Heb 4:2 ), so if in the word, and mixed with faith, revealed by Spirit ( 1 Cor 2 ) then you know it’s God; There is no SCRIPTURE account of tongues being of the devil, anyone can copy cat, or fake, doesn’t mean it true; In Acts they said tongues was their own language? ( Acts 2:6 ) Agree, but there are tongues of angels, and men ( 1 Cor 13:1 ); No one can understand you? Your not talking to men, your talking to God ( 1 Cor 14:2 ), and in YOUR PRIVATE prayer of tongues, NOT in church service, you can believe for interpretation ( 1 Cor 14:13 ); Its interpretation- meaning, explaining, NOT translation- from one language to another; Is being baptized in the Holy Ghost separate experience from salvation? Yes, ( Acts 1-2 ), was the initiation of the Holy Ghost being upon believers ; ( Acts 8:14-18 )- The people were believers v 14, then they received the Holy Ghost upon them separately v 15-18; ( Acts 9:1-17 )- Paul became a believer v 4-5, then received the Holy Ghost in v 17; ( Acts 10:43-48 )- It can be simultaneously, but still different experience hear as well; ( Acts 13:48-52 )- They were believers v 48, then received Holy Ghost v 49-52; ( Acts 19:1-6 )- They were believers v2, then they received Holy Spirit v6; All believers don’t speak in tongues do they? ( 1 Cor 12:29-30 )- means some are Apostles, teachers, speak with tongues, interpret, is talking about, SOME speak in tongues, and interpret with some gift IN A CHURCH SERVICE, not privately; Not all have the church service gift ( 1 Cor 12:10; 26-31 ), but ALL believers can pray privately in tongues, and interpret ( Mk 16:17; 1 Cor 14:2;4;13 ); Can people go in a trance? Yes, Trance means- half conscience, can’t function voluntarily; ( Num 24:4;16; Acts 10:10; 11:5; 22:17 ) All scripture accounts of being in a trance, as was known with Maria Woodworth-Etters ministry; To have dreams, see heaven, etc; Can you be slain in the Spirit, is it biblical? Yes, but the WORD slain is not in scripture; Slain means- past tense for slay, which means you being overwhelmed, a physical reaction; ( Ezek 1:28; Jn 18:6; Acts 9:4; Rev 1:17 ), All scripture accounts of being overwhelmed in their body, when faced with God’s power; Yes, there are some people that FAKE, being overwhelmed, slained , but don’t let that take away from when it can really happen;
( Gal 5:22-23 )- fruit of Spirit is your new born character, nature, emotions, attitude, for all believers; Baptism in Holy Spirit – is new ability, and gifts, by believers choice
Any gift, you have to ask to receive; For ALL believers, there are spiritual gifts ( 1 Cor 12: 7-10 ) word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues; DIVIDING TO EVERY MAN AS HE WILLS;
to DESIRE, means that you seek for, and ask ( 1 Cor 14:1 )
examples in New Testament of being baptized, with the Holy Spirit, not all ( Lk 3:16;22 ); ( Acts 2:1-4 ); ( Acts 2:17 ); ( Acts 4:31 ); ( Acts 8:14-17 ); ( Acts 9:1-17 ); ( Acts 10: 44-48 ); ( Acts 11:15-17 ); ( Acts 19:1-7 );
41 times in Acts alone, Holy Ghost mentioned as being filled, received, commanding, etc ( Acts 1:2;5;8;16; 2:4;33;38; 4:8;31; 5:3;32; 6:3;5; 7:51;55; 8:15;17;18;19; 9:17;31; 10:38;44;45;47; 11:15;16;24; 13:2;4;9;52; 15:8;28; 16:6; 19:2;6; 20:23;28; 21:11; 28:25 );

He falls UPON YOU when baptized, He dwells IN every believer
being baptized ( desiring, and receiving the Holy Spirit ) puts you in fullness of the Spirit, the MAXIMUM EFFECTIVENESS OF YOUR CHRISTIAN WALK ; if ( Acts 4:31; 13:49-52 ) says be filled, then that must mean you can not be filled, or controlled by Holy Spirit
Only way not to be baptized in Holy Spirit is no desire, or don’t want to TOTALLY submit
All believers have indwelling, of Holy Spirit ( 1 Cor 12:13 ); Holy Spirit baptizes us into Christ, so our sins are washed away, and we can desire repentance
Holy Spirit baptism empowers miracles, tongues, direct guidance, other spiritual gifts to get certain areas of God’s will done on earth today!
Gifts of the Spirit don’t just come upon believers, we have to desire them; God doesn’t force gifts on anyone; that’s why we have to ASK; asking means you desire it
Baptism is ONCE ( Acts 2:2-4 ); ( Acts 4:31 ) filled again, because Spirit can have certain influence on person
Filled, just means controlled; mind, energy, attention at it’s capacity; so soaked with the Spirit, that everything else is drizzled out of you; no room for nothing else! ( Acts 13:9: 4;8 )
We have to stay filled DAILY ( Ehp 5:18 ); how? start with submission to Spirit
You can be saved without being baptized in the Holy Spirit, but if you want to operate in POWER while you do Gods will here on earth you will desire to be baptized in the Holy Spirit
Baptism brings POWER, salvation brings LIFE .

Christians that speak in tongues DO NOT hold a higher position than Christians that don’t
Speaking in tongues should not become divisive among Christians
Certain Christians that speak in tongues should be careful not to get prideful, that could lead to sin in the Church
Speaking in tongues is a Spiritual gift from God done in the Church ( 1 Cor 12:10 )
EVERY believer can speak, or pray in tongues to edify self once baptized ( Jude 20 ) ( Isa 28:11-12 ) ( Mk 16:17-18 )
Satan copies everything God dose,but the ONLY thing Satan has no answer for is the Holy Spirit
Christians who operate in POWER yield totally to the Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit is “inlet” “outlet”- 1.through your life 2.lips (what you say ) 3.ministry ( what you do ) 4.prayer ( what you claim ) 5.through your money ( what you give )
Speaking in tongues is insulting to the human knowledge, meaning men can’t comprehend it
Speaking in tongues, you’re talking to God, the enemy can’t understand it ( 1 Cor 14:28 )
( 1 Cor 14:22 ) – means speaking is tongues is so the UNBELIEVER can have faith of spiritual reality, and be convinced to look further into Christianity
( 1 Cor 14:39 ) – and forbid NOT to speak in tongues
Tongues supernaturally connects the Spirit of man to God; some Christians with the gift ( 1 Cor 12:4-11 ) can interpret tongues, but only if God gives a person that gift; it’s up to God; there are 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit.
3 occasions in new testament in which people were baptized in Holy Spirit. 1: ( Evidence of the Holy Spirit ) ( Acts 2:4 ) 2: ( Edification of the individual ) ( 1 Cor 14:4 ) Praying in tongues, edifies the individual believer 3: ( Edification of the Church ) ( 1 Cor 12:4-11 ) believers speak in a language that they never learned, when followed by interpretation of tongues, the Church is built up
Jesus is baptizer (Lk 3:16 ) desire ALL that Jesus has for you
( Lk 11: 13 ) – YOU have to ask
Some say that speaking in tongues, and prophecy is for the apostles only; John MacArthur who I respect, says this; Well I disagree with John, and others who believe this because of what scripture says; I think hearing God’s voice should line up with scripture, but I believe these gifts are for TODAY’S church
( 1 Cor 1:7 )- gifts END, when Jesus returns
( Acts 3: 12-16 ) – ” faith in his name has made this man strong ” IT’S THE NAME, NOT THE CERTAIN PEOPLE DOING IT
(1 Cor 12:6-7;11)- key words – ALL in ALL, and EVERY man, NEVER said for Apostles only!
Prophecy;( 1 Cor 12: 10,28 ) ( Ehp 4: 11-14 ) ( Rom 12: 6 ) ( Acts 15: 32 ) ( Acts 21: 9-11 )
Tongues; ( 1Cor 12: 10,28 ) (1 Cor 14:13-19 ) ( Acts 2: 1-13 ) ( Acts 10: 44-46 ) ( Acts 19: 1-7 )
( Mark 16: 17 ) – means those that BELIEVE today, not only the apostles, or no one of today
( Jn 14:12 ) – means he that BELIEVE on me, Jesus says! they that believe will do the works that Jesus did, not even counting the greater works yet, just the works!
( Rom 15:4 ) means … whatsoever things were written a foretime were written for our learning…………
If God were only referring to the apostles, I think He would of made it perfectly clear; that this is not for the people after them
The only verse these people have to defend this is ( 1 Cor 13:8 ) and this means we won’t need Spiritual gifts when we get to Heaven, not NOW
Spiritual gifts is a way to show unbelievers, that Christ lives today, and takes us to the supernatural even though were in the flesh
If that was only for the apostles then that means everything in the bible was only for the apostles, and not for the church today; so take the Holy Spirit out of that box you people that don’t believe Spiritual gifts are for today, have Him in because God is limitless
God also shows no favoritism to man, the apostles were men just like us; so that would mean that God shows them favoritism over the church of today; and He doesn’t do that ( Acts 10: 34 – Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons. KJV ) ( Rom 2: 11 – For there is no respect of persons with God. KJV ) ( Acts 10:34 ); ( Gal 2: 6 ) means – God doesn’t rate us according to our status; He looks at attitude of heart ( 1 Sam 16:7 ) also read ( Eph 6: 9 )
Also with the prophecy, you can speak favor in your life and others
( 1 Cor 14:39 ) – means – don’t forbid anyone from speaking in tongues
We’re not adding or taking away from the 66 Holy books old; new testament by the use of the Holy Spirit, the church are vessels for God, because Jesus died, and rose from the dead on the third day, that left the Holy Spirit for the church to operate in power; in other words we have access to God because of Jesus, we’re not saying we’re the direct channel to God without Jesus like cults say
( 1 Cor 13:1 ) “Tongues of men”, is what they spoke at Pentecost, meaning a language that already exist, but you never learned it ( Acts 2:4-6 ); “tongues of Angels”, is a heavenly language ( Acts 19:6 ) ( Mk 16:17-18 ) ( 1 Cor 12, 14 ) Paul’s instructions about speaking in tongues!
How to be baptized- Must be a believer ( Jn 14:17 ); Ask ( Lk 11:9-13 ) ” Father I receive the Holy Spirit upon me at these time in the name of Jesus Christ, and I thank you for what you have done, Amen”; Its not a feeling, so don’t expect to feel different, but begin to just open your mouth by faith, and speak, as speaking in tongues is a sign!
HOW to become baptized in Holy Spirit?
( Lk 11:13 ) ( Matt 7:7 ) ( James 4:2 )- Ask
How will I know what to do after? Holy Spirit teaches ( Jn 14:26, 16:13 ). Other believers to help ( Prov 27:17 );
Is there evidence that I received? Yes ( Acts 2:4 ), speak with new tongues Spirit will direct.
