The Complaint (Verses 1-2): Miriam and Aaron speak against Moses because he married a Cushite woman, but their real issue was Moses' singular prophetic role, asking, "Has the Lord spoken only through Moses? Hasn't He also spoken through us?".
God's Intervention (Verses 4-9): The Lord summons the three to the Tabernacle, comes down in a cloud, and confronts them, questioning why they weren't afraid to speak against His appointed servant.
Miriam's Punishment (Verse 10): As God leaves, Miriam is struck with a skin disease (leprosy), making her skin white as snow.
Moses' Plea (Verses 11-12): Aaron confesses their foolishness, and Moses cries out to God, begging, "O God, please heal her!".
The Consequence & Resolution (Verses 13-16): God agrees to heal her but requires her to be confined outside the camp for seven days, after which she is restored, and the people move on; Spies incite rebellion- ( 13 ); Wilderness wandering- ( 14 ); Additional regulations- ( 15 ); Korah against Moses and Aaron- ( 16 )-
The Challenge: Korah (a Levite), Dathan, Abiram, and others accused Moses and Aaron of exalting themselves and not allowing all Israelites to be holy and serve God, questioning their authority.
Moses' Response: Moses proposed a test: he told Korah and his followers to bring censers with incense before the Lord the next day, saying God would show who was holy and chosen.
God's Judgment (Part 1 - The Earth Swallows): The earth opened up and swallowed Korah, Dathan, Abiram, their households, and their possessions alive.
God's Judgment (Part 2 - Fire Consumes): A fire from the Lord then consumed the 250 men offering incense, confirming their rebellion.
Israel's Fear & Continued Rebellion: The Israelites fled, but the next day, they grumbled against Moses and Aaron, blaming them for the deaths, which led to a plague.
Aaron's Atonement: Aaron, at Moses' instruction, offered incense to stop the plague, saving the people, though 14,700 died from it.
